GREETINGS, My name is Colin Aldridge and I would like to welcome you to my festive homepage. The photo on the right is of my two children, Caitlin and John. They don’t quite understand the meaning of christmas yet, but they will understand all the presents and chocolate. Caitlin gets fixated by the flashing lights we have up in our home, She sits up and watches them as they twinkle, which keeps her quiet until she gets bored, falls over and starts crying! AARGH!

Anyway, back to the festive season. Christmas is a time for families to come together and celebrate the birth of Christ. A time for giving and sharing your love............... STOP!! That’s enough of that! Christmas is all about parties, time off work, and a great excuse to get blind drunk! Of course, it’s so gratifying seeing the smiles on children’s faces as they unwrap their presents. Shouting out with glee as the object they have been bugging you all year about comes into view as the carefully wrapped paper (that took ages to do) gets ripped to shreds and dumped in a pile on the lounge floor! The present that you worked endless overtime to buy. The present that will be redundant by January as a much NEWER and TEN TIMES BETTER model hits the market shelves! Of which, you will be bugged even more about for their birthday. ............ Don’t you just love Christmas? I think that Christmas is great ......... Apart from one thing; the inevitable family renunion. This is the festive tradition that many grown men cringe about. The uncle that won’t shut up until you know how much his piles have been giving him grief in the last year. The grandfather that seems to talk about everything that was different in ‘his day’, including the complete story of when he was in the army during the war. The aunt that always knits you a jumper out of what seems like wire wool when you try it on to show her. The same jumper that will mysteriously disappear in the next few days! Isn’t Christmas fun?
